A premium phone that protects your attention

A phone on your side.

Adesse keeps everything you actually need — calls, messages, maps, music, podcasts, audiobooks, your camera, your bank, your car. It leaves out the feeds and autoplay loops built to consume you.

A full, capable phone you can live on. It does only what you chose, and nothing designed to pull you back in.

One email when it's ready — nothing else.

Launching soon  ·  set up by hand before it ships  ·  warranty on every phone

You already know the number.

Five to six hours a day. Around a hundred pickups.

That's where widely cited studies land — some put it far higher. And you can feel it's about right.

Not because you're weak — because the apps were built to win. That's a design you never agreed to.

Look up

Get your evenings back.

Picture the hours that quietly disappear — the mornings, the dinners, the walk where you don't reach for anything. Adesse hands those back.

This is the phone for the person you already want to be: present, unhurried, here. Same calls, same maps, same music. Just no undertow.

Life is in color. Your phone doesn't need to be.

It's why the name: adesse is Latin for to be present.

One simple rule

Does it end?

A song ends. A book ends. A drive ends. A feed never does — it's built that way on purpose.

So that's the whole test. If an app has a natural end, it stays. If it's designed to never let you stop, it's out. One rule you can hold in your head, applied to every app on the phone.

Stays

The finite and the useful

  • Calls and messages
  • Maps and navigation
  • Music and radio
  • Podcasts and audiobooks
  • Your camera and photos
  • Banking and payments
  • Your car and everyday utilities
  • Weather, calendar, notes
  • Productivity and email
  • The essentials real life needs

Goes

The bottomless and the engineered

  • Social media
  • Short-video and reels
  • Infinite news feeds
  • Autoplay-forever anything
  • Most games built to never end

The apps you count on

The apps you rely on are already here.

Adesse isn't a shorter list of your phone. It's the same everyday tools, minus the ones built to hijack you.

You install them from the Adesse Store — a curated catalog of apps that pass the rule. Most are one tap. A few open in the standard app store to finish. Either way, no hunting, no guesswork.

Talk and message

Your carrier's calls and texts, WhatsApp, Signal, Messenger

Get around

Maps and turn-by-turn navigation, ride and transit apps

Listen

Spotify, Audible, your podcast app, your music library

Money

Your bank, along with the everyday payment apps you use

Life

Your car app, calendar, weather, notes, email — and your camera and photos, in full color

A few honest notes, up front.

  • Tap-to-pay isn't supported.

Contactless phone payments don't run on Adesse. Use your physical card — it works everywhere it always did.

  • Banking varies by bank.

Most work well; a few don't play nicely. Navy Federal is confirmed. Tell us your bank before you buy and we'll check it for you.

  • Messaging alerts can occasionally lag.

Now and then a WhatsApp notification arrives a little late. Your messages all come through — the ping is sometimes a beat behind.

Calm by design

Quiet on purpose.

The screen is grayscale — the soft, restful tones that made this phone easy to put down. Full color is saved for the one place it belongs: your camera and your photos, exactly as vivid as real life.

Notifications are stripped back to the people who matter. The launcher is clean and still. Nothing flashes, nothing loops, nothing competes for the next second of your attention.

It's not a plainer phone. It's a phone that finally holds still.

A quiet bonus: Adesse runs GrapheneOS, a hardened operating system that ships without the stock data-collection layer built into most phones. Apps you choose to install — your bank, WhatsApp, Spotify — still collect data under their own terms.

The object

Built well. Set up by hand.

Adesse is a premium smartphone, chosen for build quality and finished to a single standard before it reaches you. Every unit is wiped, set up, and provisioned by hand — the catalog, the calm interface, the rule, all ready — so it works the moment you open the box.

You choose the condition that fits you. Both meet the same standard and carry the same warranty.

New

Brand-new hardware. Opened once — by us — to set yours up by hand.

Refurbished

A previous life, fully renewed. Inspected, tested, and brought to the same standard as every Adesse.

Adesse comes in three models, built on Google Pixel hardware — the Pixel 8a, 9a, and 10a. Full specifications published at launch.

Questions, answered straight.

Can I keep my phone number?

Yes. We port your number over as part of setup — you keep it. One important thing: don't cancel your old service until the port finishes, or you can lose the number. Keep it active, we'll handle the transfer, and we'll tell you the moment it's done.

Will my photos and contacts come with me?

Yes. Your contacts, photos, and calendar move over to your Adesse during setup. You arrive with your people and your memories already in place.

I'm switching from an iPhone. What should I know?

Almost everything comes across — your number, contacts, photos, and your apps from the Adesse Store. The one honest exception is iMessage: blue-bubble iMessage doesn't move to Adesse. Regular texts to and from iPhone users still work normally, so you stay reachable to everyone.

What if I need an app you don't allow?

Start with the rule: if an app ends, it's welcome; if it's built to never end, it isn't. If something you need is missing, ask us — we review requests and add apps that pass.

Does tap-to-pay work?

No — contactless phone payments aren't supported on Adesse. Your physical cards work everywhere they always have, so you're never stuck at the register. It's a small trade for a phone that leaves you alone.

Will my bank's app work?

Most do, and some are confirmed — Navy Federal works today. A few banks don't cooperate, so we don't guess: tell us your bank before you buy and we'll check it, then tell you honestly whether it works.

Do I need to buy a plan?

No. Adesse works with the service you already have — keep your plan and number. If you'd rather have one simple bill, the optional Adesse plan is $30 a month through our connectivity partner. Bring your own or use ours; the choice is yours.
